About Deep Dive Cultural Experiences
Deep Dive Cultural Experiences has been operating since 2019, working with a variety of schools and institutions in both Australia and Japan to create unforgettable cultural exchange tours to both countries.
Directors Corey and Frank have extensive educational experience; both taught for a number of years in both Japan and Australia. They have tertiary backgrounds in Japanese language and junior NPL level experience in football. The qualities they bring will ensure that your tour will be memorable.
In recent years, Deep Dive have organised numerous tours for Sydney football academies to Japan. They have also brought the U17 team of J1 club Kashima Antlers to Sydney on multiple occasions. Notably, we arranged for Kashima to play matches against Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers and other NPL1 clubs from Sydney.
Our goal is to make sure that everyone who tours with DDCE experiences our renowned personal support. We also provide that extra motivation to take on challenges in a new linguistic and cultural environment.
Frank Miao - Director
Frank completed a Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies, which included spending three semesters as an exchange student in Japan. After graduating, he taught English for four years in different cities in Japan in the public school system.
His experience, both as a study-abroad student and as a teacher, helps to ensure that all who tour with DDCE will be comfortable and thoroughly enjoy both study and recreation time throughout their stay.
Frank is also fluent in Mandarin.
Corey Adam - Director
Corey completed a Masters of Education and is a qualified high school teacher, primarily as a sports educator. He taught English in Japan for three years in the public school system.
Following his time in Japan, he spent one year teaching in Cambridge, England, working with children from many different cultures.
His passion and energy for sports (especially football) and his understanding of different cultures helps to motivate students to use English in a hands-on environment on tour. Everyone can expect to enjoy the cultural experiences and other activities.
Yuzo Tashiro - Partner
Yuzo is a former Japanese International Team player who has had a decorated career playing for some of the best clubs in the J League including Kashima Antler, Cerezo Osaka, and Vissel Kobe.
He played the last couple of years of his long career here in Australia for the Wollongong Wolves and now resides permanently in Sydney.
Yuzo is an international committee member of the Japan Football Association. He has done extensive work, since retiring as a player, in promoting cultural exchange between Japan and Australia through football.
With his extensive connections to multiple J league clubs, he can provide a truly one of a kind football experience for Australian players. He currently owns and manages his own rapidly expanding soccer school, Mate FC, with locations in both Sydney and Fukuoka.
